COMMUNITY YOGA COLLECTIVE FUNDRAISER

WITH LEANNE JONES

SUNDAY 24TH MARCH 10.00-13.00: £25

 

CYC 5th fundraiser “The Sound of Silence- A Journey Within” welcomes you to indulge in 3 hours of yoga practice, self discovery and community. Nada yoga is the practice of deep listening and will be the emphasis of the physical practice.

 

Includes 2 hour silent yoga session facilitated by Leanne Leela- Devi Jones with homemade food to follow with silent meditation then open discussion & chance to share ♥

CYC: Community Yoga Collective is an initiative set up by Rachel Wilkinson to make Yoga, mindfulness and other healing therapies accessible, affordable and achievable for all, regardless of current or historic circumstances. 
We are a diverse community providing support for those experiencing difficulties.
CYC gives power back to the people and responsibility back to individuals, that allows people to gain their own agency. 
CYC believe in a hand up rather than a hand out, moving towards a more collaborative approach to support, where individuals are encouraged to invest in themselves. 
First and foremost we are a movement that’s sustainable through fundraising events.

We have collaborations between CYC & individuals/organisations wanting to support the idea of making wellbeing accessible.
Proceeds from events are distributed in to the community, subsidising classes, workshops, retreats and other healing therapies. 
We believe in supporting people to support themselves through collective empowerment!

YOGA FOR HEALTHY BACKS 12 WEEK COURSE - with Louise Trew

 

75 Mins each week for 12 weeks

• The stretches, breathing techniques and relaxations are 'evidence based' at York University, funded by Arthritis Research UK.

• Learn lifelong skills to improve comfort, health and well-being in this specially modified yoga course to provide you with postural improvements, mental focus and relaxation.

• These are therapeutic courses limited to smaller groups providing you with a self-management programme.

 

No need to wait until your back gives you debilitating pain, learn how to improve back health and function now.

Next course starts 23rd April 2019

 

The course, including all the resources of book, CD and handouts is £215 and can be paid in 3 instalments of £60 for resources then £75 on 1st class and £75 on 7th class. This equates to £12.50 per class.

 

Spaces are strictly limited to ensure small classes and personal attention.

 

You may be able to claim the cost from health insurance or your employer as part of a back to work scheme, or get time off work as you would with physio or chiropractor sessions.

YIN YOGA with Carrie

Yin yoga is a slow paced, floor based style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods of time.

 

Holding poses for longer works on the deeper connective tissues in the body, increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative style of yoga, yin encourages awareness of inner silence, creating a deep sense of calm and relaxation.


Due to the use of props in this class, spaces are limited.

PILATES - REGULAR CLASSES - bookings only

 

THURSDAYS - 5-6pm This class runs as 8 week courses £64

 

Modified Physio Pilates.  Classes taught by a Physiotherapist Emma Bell (see Teacher page) to help manage back pain, osteoarthritis, rehab after surgery, sports injury and post natal. All abilities welcome.
