YIN YOGA with Carrie

Wednesday 13th NOV 2019:  7.45-9.00pm

75 Mins £10 per class: booking essential please

Yin yoga is a slow paced, floor based style of yoga where poses are held for longer periods of time.

Holding poses for longer works on the deeper connective tissues in the body, increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative style of yoga, yin encourages awareness of inner silence, creating a deep sense of calm and relaxation.

Due to the use of props in this class, spaces are limited.

Please book in advance with Carrie: 07786 753223/ yogahut@hotmail.com

THE BHAGAVAD GITA TODAY WITH SARAH RYAN

Saturday 30th November 2019: 10am to 4pm: £45

British Wheel of Yoga training day event number 19/58.

The Bhagavad Gita today:

Aims of the Morning
Introduce the text - its context and its relationship to yoga and to religion.
Introduce some key themes from the text and explore their relevance for us, with particular focus on karma yoga. Experience a meditative practice based on one of the themes.

Aims of the Afternoon
Continue to explore themes which are helpful to us nowadays, looking especially at teachings on pranayama and meditation, and bhakti yoga.

Sarah is a teacher, trainer and therapist in the tradition of Krishnamacharya. She also teaches Vedic Chant and Mantra.
She was a Diploma Course Tutor for the British Wheel of Yoga and a Chair of its Education Committee for three years.
Sarah teaches classes, including one for people with Multiple Sclerosis; a small group which meets regularly to discuss the yoga sutra; and on a one to one basis, whether people's prime need is Yoga as a therapy, or for personal development.

She co-founded Yoga Journey, a course for existing yoga teachers who want to study, practise and teach in the tradition of Desikachar and his father, Professor Krishnamacharya.

CYC - can you contribute to the fund by taking part in events, or do you know someone who might benefit from a subsidy from the fund to help with yoga classes:

CYC: Community Yoga Collective is an initiative set up by Rachel Wilkinson to make Yoga, mindfulness and other healing therapies accessible, affordable and achievable for all, regardless of current or historic circumstances.
We are a diverse community providing support for those experiencing difficulties.
CYC gives power back to the people and responsibility back to individuals, that allows people to gain their own agency.
CYC believe in a hand up rather than a hand out, moving towards a more collaborative approach to support, where individuals are encouraged to invest in themselves.
First and foremost we are a movement that’s sustainable through fundraising events.

We have collaborations between CYC & individuals/organisations wanting to support the idea of making wellbeing accessible.
Proceeds from events are distributed in to the community, subsidising classes, workshops, retreats and other healing therapies.
We believe in supporting people to support themselves through collective empowerment!
